Certain custom mods, skin unlockers, or outdated custom HUDs can accidentally misreport your inventory data to the host, triggering a false positive tag. How to Fix the Cheater Tag
Certain "Quality of Life" mods can sometimes trigger false positives if they change how items are tracked. How to Fix the Cheater Tag
The Cheater Tag in Payday 2 is an automated penalty for possessing illegal progression or inventory items. To remove it, you must and then complete legitimate heists. The only guaranteed fix is a full progress reset, though careful cleaning can sometimes remove the tag without resetting. No third-party tool can instantly clear the tag.
If you purchase heist assets (body bags, doctor bags, grenade crates) during the players’ loading screen or before the server fully syncs, the host client may see the transaction as "spawning items from thin air," resulting in a temporary tag.
If you use BLT, SuperBLT, or BeardLib mods, some of them may contain scripts that unlock DLC content automatically.

Using a legendary skin on a weapon that has attachments it shouldn't have.
